Depending on your location, transportation costs can be a major portion of the cost of your coal. Another way Logan & Kanawha excels is by offering direct access from the Hampden and Gilbert mines to either Norfolk Southern or CSX railroads. Coal can also be shipped by truck or rail to various barge loading facilities for transport via the inland river system.

Coal for export can be shipped in Panamex-size (or larger) cargoes from the mines directly to East Coast or U.S. Gulf Coast deepwater facilities, and to the Great Lakes.
